How it works

Want to have more control over your project's CSS by self-hosting? Follow these few steps to make it happen.

The caveat: Your template site's CSS will no longer be automatically updated when I make global changes to the code. This is important when Squarespace makes random updates that negatively affect your site (happens more than you think). I'll still add new Template Docs when this happens to keep you equipped, but making this change to self-hosting ultimately becomes your responsibility to maintain.

All of that said… if you'd like to host all of the CSS locally on your own template site, here's how you can do that.

  1. Navigate to the site's Header Code Injection

  2. Find the link portion of the very first script on the page (blurred in the example).

  3. Remove templates and css (see below) and replace both with less — make sure ONLY text is changed, no punctuation, quotes, etc.

  4. Paste that URL into your browser, and copy/paste everything you see there at the bottom of your site's CSS window.

  5. Remove the entire <script> from the Header Code Injection and save.
